About

Greetings! I started this blog to document my book-in-progress. It’s a textbook for an intro ed tech class I’ll be teaching this summer. While the primary audience for the book will be my own students (who are mostly K-12 teachers), I hope that it will be useful to those in higher ed as well. I’ll be posting drafts of the book chapters here as they’re completed. The book will be available under a Creative Commons license, and may also be available in printed form at some point.

About me:

I’m the Technology Coordinator for the Curriculum, Technology, and Education Reform (CTER) program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. CTER is an on-line Ed. M. program for working teachers. We’re accepting applications for our 11th year right now (yeah, we’ve been doing this on-line thing for a while :-) ).

My research interests lie in technology-mediated education, new media, and computer-supported collaborative learning,
